Turkey Explosion
November 21, 2007The University of Minnesota pays someone to invent demonstrations for the chemistry lectures. We have some kind of demo almost every lecture. It keeps you awake. Sometimes the demo pertains to the subject material, and sometimes its just awesome. Today, it didn’t really pertain to the material, but it was very cool.

Very cool. What was the chemical again? And how much does it cost?
The chemical was peroxyacetone. Its a powder that is so explosive you can’t order it in large quatities. Joe, the demo guy, has to make the compound in his lab and tries to use it all up so that he doesn’t have to store it.
I think I used to use that stuff to treat my acne.
